Age Restrictions
Our competition is open to competitors from the ages of 3 to adult!
5 and under -- 13
6 ---------------- 14
7 ---------------- 15
8 ---------------- 16
9 ---------------- 17
10 -------------- 18
11 -------------- 19 and over
12
Competitor Levels
Recreational – dancers who train 4 hours or less per week. A group must be 100% Recreational to compete in this division.
High School - dancers who dance in a high school program.
Novice – Dancer's who have never participated in a dance competition and is training more than 4 hours per week. Any trio must be 66% novice and any small group or large group must be 75% Novice to be eligible.
Competitive – Students who:
- train more than 4 hours per week and have competed in a competition before.
- or who wish to compete in this category.
Professional –A dancer who earns a living by teaching or performing dance. Dancers in this category are not eligible for Overalls.
Showcase of Stars
Showcase - Open performance category, All ages, Any number of competitors, any dance style, (professionals will be judged separately). This category will be judged on showmanship, entertainment value, as well as technique, theme, and execution.
If you happen to have a group or routine that does not quite fit the above categories then we ask that you please contact us to further discuss the placement of your group or routine in our competition.
Group Size Definitions
Solo - 1 Dancer.
Duet - 2 Dancers.
Trio - 3 Dancers.
Small Group - 4 to 8 Dancers.
Large Group - 9 to 16 Dancers.
Extended Line - 17 or more Dancers.
Production - 12 and over.
Age Determination
Individual: Your age on or before January 1, 2012
Groups: The average age of the group rounded up to the next full number.
(individual ages calculated on or before January 1, 2012)
